The president Mr Joseph Kabila held a series of meeting yesterday at the palais du people; Mr Kabila met with speakers of the parliament and the senate to discuss various preoccupations of both houses of parliament but in the corridors of power rumours were circulation as to the exact purpose of the visit. For some the visit was to attain the view of the majority as to whom the post of prime minister should go?
The country has found has found itself without a prime minister due to the resignation of the last prime Mr Antoine Gazing whom on Tuesday reiterated his resignation when the cabinet meeting took place. The resignation means the whole of the government has effectively resigned confirmed by the departing premier. Despite this, the president reminded the minister and vice-minister of their responsibility to carry on their duties in the discipline and respect of the law. He also called for more effort in dealing with the situation in the east.
